| Frank Hoctor was bom in Hoosick Falls, New York, on December 18, 1903. He was married to Elizabeth MacDonald Hoctor and father of four children: Fred Hoctor, Betsy Hoctor Brown, Harriet Hoctor Groeschel and Fran Hoctor Dorr. Frank died in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 1, 1960. When Frank was still in High School in Hoosick Falls, he applied to a correspondence school far a course in advertising and art illustration. Before long he was working in New York City as an artist for an advertising agency. Before his death he was recognized as one of the finest art directors in the nation. He was an expert draughtsman, watercolorist and a life-long member and vice president of the Art Directors Club of New York. |
