We are opening this Hoctor Family page with the family of Timothy Hoctor of Hoosick Falls, New York. Tim Hoctor and his wife, Elizabeth Kearny Hoctor, had four children: Eloise, Frank, Harriet and John. We will begin the site with the story of Tim and “Libby”, and will continue with the stories of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In time we plan to add stories of cousins and other relatives, both in the United States and Ireland, deceased and living. Like all web sites, this one is a work in progress, and we welcome suggestions, comments and questions.
We will begin with information we have collected over the years and will add additional information and links as we hear from other members of the family, whom we may not yet know about.

Timothy Hoctor of Hoosick Falls, New York, b. 1859
John and Harriet Hoctor, the two youngest children of Tim and Libby Hoctor. John was a professional golfer, and Harriet was a ballet dancer who, among other lifetime accomplishments, appeared in “Shall We Dance” with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in 1936. She later taught dance in the Boston area.
